Improvement Academy

Welcome

In creating the Improvement Academy, we aimed to develop an innovative and scalable education and training resource to assist NHS Tayside in our quality improvement needs, including all of the various aspects of the improvement science process, while optimizing the use of eHealth resources.

It is clear that to achieve systematic quality and improvement, a culture of continuous learning has to be embedded in our organisation and within all our staff groups, backed up by clear and unambiguous focus on learning.  Our infrastructure for learning is based on bringing together, in a  co-ordinated way, the sometimes disparate activity and resources that we commit to learning and development in the field of improvement and safety.

The Improvement Academy will focus on the development of NHS Tayside as a Learning Community in its own right by establishing this Improvement Faculty.  The Centre for Organisational Effectiveness will also support the development of wider Learning Communities on a national and international basis.  This will ensure that our work is enshrined in academic rigor and evidence based practice. It will also focus on building partnerships in improvement with active partners in higher education, public sector, Health Foundation, NES, QIS and Scottish Government to contribute to a culture that enables and supports improvement and quality.
